Abstract
Self-identity of the people is a kind of work in progress, the contents of which changes in times of crises. A special role in the justification of self-identity of the people belongs to mithopoesis. It means the forms of collective unconscious from the scope unconceived, unreflective experience ethnic group, nation. In recent times the semantic tension feels self-identity of the Slavic peoples - Ukrainians, Russian, and strife are almost tear their historical unity.
